House fire in Waukegan, 2-19-21

Waukegan firefighters were called to a house fire at 545 W. Water Street on Friday evening, arriving to find heavy flames already burning. The situation was severe enough that the alarm was upgraded to a MABAS Box Alarm, bringing in additional emergency resources to contain the blaze. Residents in the area reported thick smoke and loud noises as the fire spread quickly through the structure. Firefighters worked for several hours to bring the fire under control and ensure no one was left inside. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
