Have you ever found yourself pondering the origin of the name "Celica," particularly for one of Toyota's iconic sports cars? Well, wonder no more—here's the story behind it. The name "Celica" draws inspiration from the Latin term coelica, which translates to "celestial." This name fits perfectly, given the car's reputation for reliability, versatility, and its almost otherworldly appeal. If you're already head over heels for the Celica, just wait until you see this breathtaking eBay listing:

eBay user billtek worked closely with the renowned DTM Autobody to bring this vision to life. At first glance, it’s clear that this 2000 Celica has undergone an extraordinary transformation compared to its original form, which looked something like this:

The current owner sought the expertise of DTM Autobody to customize every inch of the car. Even the trunk received a makeover:

No detail was overlooked in creating this masterpiece. The team installed a custom carbon fiber hood, roof, and trunk, while also lowering the car’s ground clearance both front and rear. They added JDM headlights, a stunning set of performance tires, custom rims, and DPE wheels to elevate the aesthetic. This GTS hatchback now boasts a dual exhaust system with a unique burned-edge design for an even sportier look.

The interior, too, underwent a meticulous transformation. Bride bucket seats, a Momo steering wheel, and a manual stick shift knob were carefully selected. There’s also evidence of a custom stereo system installed in the back for an immersive driving experience.

Interestingly, the engine bay remains largely untouched, retaining the original 1.8L engine with 130,000 miles on it. However, the eBay seller recommends upgrading to a Toyota Supra Twin Turbo engine for enhanced performance. With its classic charm and modern upgrades, this car offers the best of both worlds.

Unfortunately, the recent eBay auction closed without any takers, leaving this gem still available at a steal of a price: around $10,000. Would you consider making this one-of-a-kind 2000 Celica yours? Let us know what you think in the comments below or share your thoughts on Facebook!

This incredible build is proof that the Celica has always been more than just a car—it’s a symbol of innovation, craftsmanship, and timeless style. Whether you’re a fan of classic designs or crave something truly unique, this vehicle checks all the boxes.
