For instance, some advanced BMS systems can even detect temperature changes and automatically shut down the battery before it overheats to a dangerous level—typically around 176°F (80°C).

Now, let's talk about battery types. Non-removable batteries tend to offer better performance and reliability compared to removable ones. While removable batteries might seem convenient, they often suffer from contact degradation over time, leading to increased resistance and reduced overall capacity. This makes them less ideal for high-performance electric bikes where every watt-hour counts. However, removable batteries can work well in certain scenarios, such as electric scooters or hybrid setups, where a network of charging stations is available.

On the other hand, building your own electric bike using a separate Delfast battery doesn't make much sense. Electric bike batteries are highly specialized and are designed to work seamlessly with specific motors and controllers. Trying to piece together components yourself can lead to compatibility issues, subpar performance, and potentially even safety hazards. Instead, purchasing a complete electric bike package ensures that all parts are optimized to work together.
