In August of last year, the Royal Dutch DSM Group has signed an agreement with Wuhan Organic to entrust its production of Villemax feed grade benzoic acid. At present, only Wuhan Organic and the US company Kalama own this technology. Wuhan Organic is one of the oldest food additives production and operation companies in China. The main product, sodium benzoate, is used for food and pharmaceutical additives. Its current annual output has reached 80,000 tons, ranking second in the world, second only to the US company Carama.
