When the horn button on the steering wheel or other position is pressed, the current from the battery flows through the circuit to the electromagnetic coil of the horn relay. The electromagnetic coil attracts the relay's moving contact switch to close and the current will flow to the horn. The current causes the electromagnet inside the horn to work, causing the diaphragm to vibrate and emit a sound.

According to experience, in many troubles related to the horn, when the problem occurs, it is often the failure of the horn itself. In particular, some design horns have a defect in the installation position, and it is easy to make the horn wet with rain when it rains, causing damage to the horn. When the horn does not ring, the common fault location is nothing more than 3 points, namely the horn itself, the horn switch contacts and the horn wire harness. When a fault occurs, the following steps can be checked.

First, it does not ring at all. First check that the fuse is blown, then unplug the horn plug and use a multimeter to measure if there is electricity when the horn is switched. If there is no electricity, you should check the horn wire harness and horn relay; if there is electricity, it is the problem of the horn itself, at this time you can also try to adjust the adjusting nut on the horn to see if it can sound, if it still does not ring, you need to replace the horn.
Second, sometimes it does not ring. If you press a horn switch, if the horn sounds sometimes and sometimes it does not ring, it is mostly the contacts inside the horn switch that are not in good contact with each other, and some of them are also problems with the horn itself.
Third, the voice is hoarse. Mostly due to poor contact of the plug, especially the various contacts around the steering wheel, due to frequent use, it is easy to make the contact wear
