BorgWarner intends to expand its UK factory
Parts supplier BorgWarner recently announced that it will build an engineering center and a new production line in the UK to provide Jaguar Land Rover with turbocharger systems .
BorgWarner will build a new production line at its Bradford plant in the UK and will also build a new engineering center to supply Jaguar Land Rover's engine manufacturing center in Wolverhampton, England. Jaguar Land Rover will use the turbocharged system supplied by the former to manufacture four-cylinder gasoline and diesel engines scheduled for 2015.
Jaguar Land Rover Purchasing Director Ian Harnett said: "Jaguar Land Rover is still committed to enhancing and developing the UK's automotive supply chain. This supply contract is a good indication of how we can develop innovative solutions to achieve future growth through our partnership with supply chains. â€
In the past 35 years, BorgWarner has supplied turbocharger systems to several commercial engine manufacturers through the Bradford plant. The new production line will expand the company's product range to the passenger vehicle turbocharger. The new engineering center will provide application engineering, design, simulation, testing and verification.
