Texas Instruments Introduces New Products: 6A Power Module

Texas Instruments announced the latest 6 V, 6 A synchronous integrated power modules with integrated inductors that deliver industry-best performance with 750 watts per cubic inch and peak power efficiency of up to 97%. The TPS84610 supports excellent thermal performance of 12°C/W and is 40% stronger than competing modules. The device is highly integrated with inductors and passive components in a single lead frame, requiring only three external components to provide a complete, easy-to-design 150 square millimeter solution that simplifies DSP and FPGA designs for telecom power supplies.

The TPS84610 supports input voltages from 2.95 V to 6 V, generates low 0.8 V outputs, and the switching frequency can be adjusted from 500 kHz to 2 MHz. The 9 mm x 11 mm x 2.8 mm low noise module meets the EN55022 Class B electromagnetic emission standard and supports noise sensitive applications such as broadband communications equipment.

Key Features and Benefits of the TPS84610 • Highest power density at 6 A: The 150 mm2 solution size supports a power density of 750 W per cubic inch;

· Easy to design: only 3 external components;

High Performance: Compared with competing solutions, full-load efficiency increases by 9% and thermal performance improves by 40%.

Growing power supply camp In addition to the TPS84610, TI also introduced four other power modules for integrated inductors, including the pin-compatible 2 A TPS84210 and 4 A TPS84410, supporting input voltages from 2.95 V to 6 V. The 3 A TPS84320 and 6 A TPS84621 modules support input voltages from 4.5 V to 14.5 V and output voltages as low as 0.6 V.

TI's broad portfolio of load point regulators and easy-to-use power modules cover SIMPLE SWITCHER? Wide input modules and DC/DC converters, as well as TPS84K integrated power solutions such as the TPS84610. All of these products come with an evaluation board, reference design, and easy-to-use WEBENCH? Or SwitcherPro? Design tool support.

Plastic Injection Mould

Plastic Injection Mold is an assembly of parts containing within it an impression into which plastic material is injected and cooled. It's the impression which gives the moulding its form. The impression may, therefore, be defined as that part of the mould which imparts shape to the moulding.

The impression is formed by two mould members:

  1. The cavity, which is the female portion of the mould, gives the moulding its external form.
  2. The core, which is the male portion of the mould, forms the internal shape of the moulding.

Cavity and core plates: This is illustrated for a simple container, the basic mould, in this case, consists of two plates. Into one plate is sunk the cavity which shapes the outside form of the moulding and is therefore known as the cavity plate.

Similarly, the core which projects from the core plate forms the inside shape of the moulding. When the mould is closed, the two plates come together forming a space between the cavity and core which is the impression.
