Prospect Heights and Buffalo Grove have been added
Two fire departments have been added to the site, though neither is fully complete yet. In Division 3, Prospect Heights has two stations. Station 39 is already finished, and Station 9 currently has one of seven rigs posted—more will be added this week as they become available.
Additionally, Buffalo Grove in Division 4 has three stations. The rig postings for these are still in progress, and some data needs updating to ensure accuracy. We’re working on it, but it’s a bit time-consuming.
Today, we want to thank Karl Klotz for submitting most of the content for Division 19. It will take several days to process and upload since the division doesn’t even have a MABAS page yet. As with other divisions, there will initially be some gaps, but we’ll update them when possible.
Hank Sajovic generously shared 115 images of Chicago Fire Department (CFD) firehouses. These will require several days of preparation before being posted online. He mentioned that about 10–15 of the photos may need updates from their original capture dates, and he plans to handle those before summer ends. Speaking of Hank, he’s also working on an upcoming book about Chicago firehouses, which is set to release in the future.
As visitors to this site, please understand that we're still in the early stages of development, which will take at least six months. While we work through the backlog, we'll post the images we currently have. Some may be updated or replaced later if we get better shots—like a different angle, or a rig captured on scene during an incident. Apparatus or stations might have been photographed in bad weather or from less-than-ideal positions, and we know the photographers would prefer better versions. That’s why we’ve chosen to post what we have now so departments can be featured as accurately as possible. When new, improved images come in, we’ll update them and let you know here.
Most of the stations in Division 3 were recently photographed and should be added to the site this week, depending on availability and time.
We encourage readers to send us comments or emails about any apparatus that's on order or has recently arrived. This helps us keep our information current and accurate. Your input is valuable and greatly appreciated.
