Chicago house fire on West Iowa 4-6-13
Hey everyone,
I just got this update from Josh Boyajian about a recent fire incident in Chicago. Apparently, there was a significant fire reported at 4258 West Iowa Street earlier today. From what he described, the fire initially broke out on the first floor but quickly spread to the second floor and even reached the attic area. The responding teams included Engine Company 117 and Tower Ladder 14, who faced quite a challenge due to the extremely strong winds that were blowing at the time. It seemed to make their job a bit more complicated.
Here’s what Josh shared: "Chicago companies responded to a Still and Box alarm at 4258 West Iowa this afternoon. The fire appeared to start on the first floor and then extended up to the second floor and attic. The wind was really strong, making things a bit tricky for the firefighters. Here are some of the photos I took."
Attached are some of the images he captured during the event. You can see the intensity of the flames as they were bursting out of the building, giving a clear sense of how serious the situation was. There are also shots of the firefighters working hard, operating from the tower ladders, trying to bring the situation under control. It's always impressive to see their dedication and skill in action.
Take a look at these photos to get a better idea of what happened:

It’s always a reminder of how dangerous and unpredictable fires can be, especially when conditions like strong winds are present. Kudos to the firefighters for their bravery and quick response!
Stay safe, everyone.
