CFD EMS Plan 2 for a vehicle crash on the Dan Ryan, 6-3-14

This from Asher Heimermann:

According to the Illinois State Police, two tractor-trailer trucks were involved in a serious collision with a bus carrying developmentally disabled passengers on Tuesday afternoon along the Dan Ryan Expressway near South 95th Street.

The bus was transporting 38 special needs adults traveling from the Pilsen neighborhood to Robbins, as confirmed by Larry Langford, a media affairs director with the Chicago Fire Department.

A red semi-truck lost control and veered off the road, striking a concrete barrier. This caused its trailer, which was loaded with recycled paper, to detach and crash into the bus, according to police reports.

Emergency crews responded swiftly, and the Chicago Fire Department activated an EMS Plan 2, indicating a significant incident requiring coordinated medical support.
