New home for the Schiller Park FD tower ladder
The Glenville Fire Department in Minnesota has recently welcomed a new addition to its fleet: the former Schiller Park Tower 5. This historic ladder truck, once part of the Schiller Park Fire Department in Illinois, has found a new home across the country, bringing with it a legacy of service and firefighting excellence.
The truck is now proudly serving the community of Glenville, and the department shared photos of the vehicle on their Facebook page, showing its arrival and how it looks in its new environment. These images give a glimpse into the transition and the excitement surrounding the new asset.
In addition to the Tower 5, another photo shows Schiller Park FD Truck 454, captured by Larry Shapiro. It serves as a reminder of the department’s history and the vehicles that have served their community over the years.
This move highlights the ongoing exchange of equipment between fire departments, often driven by the need for updated resources or the desire to preserve historical apparatus. For the residents of Glenville, this new truck represents not only a modern tool for emergency response but also a symbol of continuity and shared fire service values across the country.
