Foreign capital is monopolizing the domestic auto parts market

China Association of Automobile Manufacturers warns: Morning News (Reporter Liu Xiaolin) – Foreign-invested companies occupy 54 spots in the "Top 100 Auto Parts Companies in China 2005" list released by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers. Jiang Lei, executive vice president of the China Automobile Association, has raised concerns about the growing ambition of international auto parts giants to dominate the market. As the domestic automotive manufacturing sector reaches a mature stage, foreign multinationals are increasingly targeting the auto parts industry, which holds significant growth potential. With China being the world's fourth-largest auto producer, this trend means that a large portion of profits in the local component sector is now being captured by foreign firms. However, their ambitions go beyond just capturing market share. Jiang Lei highlighted that foreign joint ventures in China are undergoing major transformations—shifting from equity participation to full control, from joint ventures to sole proprietorships, and from market entry to market dominance. In reality, foreign investment has already begun to consolidate its influence in the domestic auto parts market. These companies not only hold key technologies for critical components but also control the supply chain for supporting manufacturers. Moreover, they have established comprehensive systems across development, training, production, and sales in China. They are now optimizing their operations through strategic division of labor and regional layout. On the other hand, domestic auto parts companies face numerous challenges. Their small scale, limited R&D capabilities, and lack of competitive edge make them vulnerable. This is evident when comparing the revenue of China’s top 100 auto parts companies with their global counterparts. Last year, the total sales of the top 100 domestic companies were less than 10% of the world’s top 100. Shen Ningwu, deputy secretary-general of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, admitted that merging and acquiring local companies is a complex and difficult process. With rising pressure from foreign monopolies and decreasing procurement costs from domestic automakers, the survival environment for local parts suppliers is becoming increasingly challenging. China’s vast market opportunities remain a major attraction for multinational corporations. It is estimated that by the end of 2007, multinational car companies planned to purchase $50 billion worth of auto parts from low-cost countries, with 70% of these purchases targeted at Chinese suppliers. However, experts caution that multinational corporations must also consider the upcoming implementation of China’s Anti-Monopoly Law. It is clear that any monopolistic behavior resulting from mergers and acquisitions in China will be closely monitored and regulated.

We have a complete plastic consumables production line. Mold-making, injection molding and sterilization, all the procedures are done efficiently in our own factory. Precision molds, high quality raw material and advanced equipment to produce and perform quality testing with strict and comprehensive rules to ensure our products meet the highest quality and performance standards expected by the hospitals, research institutions and industrial, clinical laboratories that we supply.

• Excellent mold-making ability.

Our R&D team, with over 30 years` experiences, work with high quality mold-making equipment imported from Germany and professional mold analysis software that allow NEST to develop more precise molds.

• Injection molding in Class 10,000 and Class 100,000 clean rooms, with strict quality control.

10,764 ft2 Class 10,000 clean room and 32292 ft2 Class 100,000 clean room, all-electric high-speed injection molding machines imported from Japan, raw material which meet USP Class VI requirements. Production and quality control are performed strictly in accordance with corresponding SOP.

• Sterilization by electronic beam irradiation.

The Rhodotron TT200 electron accelerator which imported from the IBA company, Belgium. A world leader in the E-Beam sterilization industry. Sterilization process has been certified by the ISO 11137 quality system. Compared with sterilization by cobalt 60 or ethylene oxide sterilization, sterilization by electronic beam irradiation is more efficient and safer. It requires less time and will not produce any chemical residue.
