Lausanne, Switzerland — On September 7, 2022, Flyability, a pioneer in indoor inspection drones, announced that it has successfully raised an additional CHF 15 million in its Series C funding round. This follows the CHF 7 million already secured earlier in the year, marking another significant milestone for the company.
The latest round was led by SBI Investment, a Japanese venture capital firm, with strong participation from new investors such as Cargill and Verve Ventures. Existing backers, including Dow, ETF Partners, Swisscom, and Future Industry Ventures, also joined the round, underscoring continued confidence in Flyability’s mission and growth potential.
Yoshitaka Kitao, Chairman and President of SBI Investment, expressed enthusiasm about the investment: “Flyability has made impressive progress over the past year, and we are excited to support their vision of making industrial inspections safer and more efficient.â€
Patrick Thévoz, CEO and co-founder of Flyability, shared his excitement: “We’re thrilled to close this oversubscribed round, which reflects the growing demand for our solutions. With nearly 1,000 customers and offices across the U.S., Singapore, China, and Lausanne, we’re seeing rapid expansion driven by the success of Elios 3.â€
Cargill and Dow, two major industry players, have already been using Flyability’s technology to enhance safety and streamline operations. Their involvement not only highlights the value of the platform but also reinforces the shift toward digital transformation in industries like agriculture, energy, and manufacturing.
Julian Chase from Cargill emphasized the importance of safety: “For over 150 years, safety has been at the core of everything we do. Partnering with Flyability helps us continue reducing workplace hazards.â€
Marty Robinson of Dow added: “Flyability’s advancements go beyond basic inspections. The Elios 3 is a game-changer, supporting our sustainability and safety goals through cutting-edge robotics.â€
Founded in 2014 by Patrick Thévoz and Adrien Briod, Flyability has grown into a global leader in drone-based inspection solutions. Its technology allows workers to avoid dangerous environments while still gathering critical data, improving efficiency and reducing downtime.
Elios 3, launched just months before this funding round, represents a leap forward in drone capabilities. It features collision-tolerant design and LiDAR mapping, enabling real-time 3D visualization of assets. This innovation is helping industries digitize their inspection processes and move closer to fully autonomous systems.
Susanne Schorsch of Verve Ventures commented: “Flyability is leading the charge in transforming how industrial inspections are conducted. Their latest product shows a clear path toward remote, autonomous operations.â€
Thévoz added: “We’ve come a long way since we started. Our goal has always been to eliminate the need for humans to enter dangerous spaces. With Elios 3, we’re getting closer than ever.â€
This Series C funding will help Flyability further develop its sensing and autonomy technologies, ensuring the Elios 3 remains adaptable to the needs of various industries.
Flyability continues to expand its global footprint, serving clients in over 60 countries. With a strong team, innovative products, and strategic partnerships, the company is well-positioned to lead the future of industrial inspection.
Air Cooler Turbine
An air cooler turbine is a device used in an air cooler that increases air flow and improves air cooling efficiency. A turbine is a rotating piece made up of a series of blades that turn as air passes through the turbine, creating a powerful flow of air. This airflow takes heat out of the air, making it cooler. The air cooler turbine is usually driven by a motor and can be adjusted as needed for speed and air volume. It is widely used in automobile, robot, electronic equipment and other fields.
Air cooler, referred to as "air cooler", also called fin fan, commonly used to replace the water cooled shell - tube Heat Exchanger cooling medium. It is a device for cooling or condensing the high temperature process fluid inside the tube by sweeping the finned tube with ambient air as the cooling medium. Air cooler is mainly used in petroleum, chemical, metallurgy and other air cooler supporting use, with large air volume, high efficiency, low vibration, low noise, easy maintenance and other advantages.
The main business scope is various heaters, waste heat boilers, pressure vessels, supportingair preheaters, air coolers, furnace accessories and accessories, and provide equipment installation, with EPC ability of projects. At present, our customers have covered all large and medium-sized petrochemical enterprises in China and established long-term strategic cooperative partnership with them. Products are exported to Southeast Asia, Middle East, and other regions.
