Background
Recycled PET bottle flakes are produced from waste beverage bottles through sorting, crushing, washing, and drying. These flakes can be made wherever there is a high volume of beverage consumption. As one of the main importers of recycled PET bottle flakes, China imports over 10-13 million tons annually. However, in 2017, China implemented stricter environmental regulations that completely banned the import of waste plastics, including recycled PET in the form of bales or flakes. This led to a new requirement: recycled PET must be re-pelletized into granules or chips before it can be imported.

- Ensure sufficient pre-drying time before re-pelletizing by using venting-type compactors or lifting-type drying hoppers to remove moisture and prevent hydrolysis;
- Combine modular processing sections with efficient degassing structures from twin-screw extruders and automatic 3-level Roots vacuum pump sets to achieve a vacuum pressure of -0.1MPa, effectively removing volatiles from PET melts and minimizing IV value reduction;

- The strands pelletizing system is ideal for lower capacity applications (below 600kg/h), where manual operation is acceptable. However, for higher capacity needs, an underwater pelletizing system is recommended for better automation and reliability;
