The suspect Liu Moumou explained that because the tomb gate was too heavy to be transported in one piece, they knocked the two tombs into 3 sections and then carried them on a motorcycle parked not far away. The two tomb doors were beautifully sculpted and eventually sold to the Longquan Stone Carving Store at a price of 10,000 yuan.
After investigation, the tomb gang has stolen dozens of ancient tombs, stone carvings and other artifacts in Lezhi, Jianyang, and Neijiang from March 2015 to the present. The amount involved was nearly one million yuan.
At present, 12 members of the tomb gang members such as Liu Moumou, Yan Moumou, and Mao Moumou have been detained by the Public Security Bureau of Lezhi County.
