This is from Steve Redick:
It was Sunday morning, December 9th, 2018. We arrived at a mattress warehouse that was fully sprinklered and made of metal. The initial call came in through an automatic alarm system. From the outside, there wasn’t much to see—just smoke rising from the building. But inside, things were moving fast. Truck 26 was doing aggressive ventilation using their aerial ladder, and they were also cutting into the side of the structure with saws. It was a pretty intense scene, but everything seemed under control.
I took a few photos and you can check out the rest, including video, on the link provided.

The images show Chicago FD apparatus at the scene, thick smoke coming from the warehouse, firefighters working on the aerial ladder, and some close-up shots of the operation. There are also pictures of Engine 95 at a hydrant, Tower Ladder 14, and MVU 9, all part of the response team. It’s always interesting to see how quickly crews respond and how efficiently they handle these types of incidents.
